About Peptide TherapyThe short version

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signals in the body. Some peptide medications are FDA-approved for specific uses. Others are compounded or used off-label, and the evidence for them is still developing.

We prescribe only peptides that are permissible under current U.S. law: an FDA-approved drug or one of its components, or a substance on the FDA Bulk Drug Substances List or with a USP or National Formulary monograph, compounded by a licensed pharmacy. Never “research use only” products. Before you start, we explain the evidence, regulatory status, risks, and alternatives in writing.

What makes VitalX different:

  • LegitScript certified, so our prescribing and pharmacies are independently verified
  • Compounded only by licensed partner pharmacies that purity- and batch-test their medications
  • Partner pharmacies are subject to FDA and state inspection at any time
  • We follow the current regulatory framework, regardless of how widely other peptides are marketed
  • Every protocol is directed by a board-certified physician

Questions3 common questions
Do you sell peptides online?

No. Peptides are prescribed only after an evaluation with a VitalX clinician, and dispensed by a licensed pharmacy.

Why don’t you offer some of the peptides I have read about?

Popularity does not make a peptide permissible. For a peptide to be eligible for compounding, prescribing, or sale in the U.S., it generally must be a component of an FDA-approved drug, be on the FDA Bulk Drug Substances List, or have a USP or National Formulary monograph. Many popular peptides meet none of these requirements. An FDA advisory committee review is not the same as a legal change; only completed, formal FDA rulemaking changes a substance’s status. Until then, we do not offer, prescribe, or recommend them.

Why does LegitScript certification matter?

It means an independent organization has verified that we prescribe lawfully, use partner pharmacies held to the highest standards of quality and purity testing, and follow the latest science and best practices. Many products sold online and at other clinics are not permitted in the U.S., and we never offer them.
